There are immediate openings for: (i) a research assistant position at the graduate level and (ii) a research assistant position at the undergraduate level for the 2008-09 year. The first position involves tackling important and exciting problems in Text Summarization and Extraction. The second position involves useful and exciting optimizations and application of the Software Laboratory for Rapid Rewriting (LRR) developed at UH by Dr. Verma and his students. Mastery of C/C++ is a must for the second position.
