6/15 33M 53K Trail Race 7:35:37 (1:48 Cow Camp; 3:10 Dry Fork; 4:14 Upper Sheep Creek; 5:44 Lower Sheep Creek) Long Horn Trail Run BTR 764 8/7 Viewing the US praries like a buffalo in ancient times. However, the course was tough and had a lot of steep downhills with difficult footing. First my IT-band got sore; because of that I had to slow down on the 4000 foot drop after mile 18; then I hit the wall at 48K: never had that many lower leg cramps and bad nausea after a race. Anyway, the beauty of tge course justifies this kind of suffering. It was very scenic going up and down over meadows with a lot a flowers and through a nice canyon...

7/6 13.2M cont 8:40 8:05 TownL 764 6/8 No trail run; all close by trails were flooded. Town Lake was also partially flooded; had to balance over beams... --- ran okay considering it was quite warm due to the lateness of my run.

It took us 2h to run 8.5M (including an unusual river crossing were we had to "ride over a tree" which resulted in a 20 minute delay) --- when I came back to Memorial Park it was already 8:20, and I decided it was not a good idea to run 9 more miles "in all that heat".
7/21 18M cont 2:37:30 (8:30 8:20 9:20) RivOk BTR 6/8 Got really tired and overheated after 14 miles; ran fine for the first 14 miles; was quite tired and sleepy for the remainder of Sunday. T/H: 79-83; 85%-79%.
7/22 6.5M hills: 5x3: RE2: ? Alleng SNC 5/9 164.5p; beaten up but managed to finish the workout, although I was not too fast!

Meaning of Short Terms

21W := 21 sets of strength training (various exercises) each set consisting of 12 repetitions.
