<title>March 20 Meeting Van Bui from Argonne National Lab</title>
	   <link>http://www.cs.uh.edu/~hpctools/index.shtml#calendar</link>
<description>Our esteemed colleague Van Bui from Argonne National Lab will be meeting with us for our regular 1:30p meeting in PGH 218. <br/><br/>
<b>TITLE: </b>"Towards the Dynamic Selection of Parallel Linear Solvers Based on Performance and Power Considerations"<br/><br/>
		<b>ABSTRACT: </b>
The solution of large-scale linear systems often dominates the overall execution of parallel applications based on partial differential equations. Moreover, it is impossible to know a priori which of many different algorithms performs best for a given problem. This poster describes our approach to incorporating power considerations into the dynamic selection of preconditioned Krylov methods. This work forms part of a multi-institutional effort to develop infrastructure for computational quality of service for parallel scientific applications.
