STRUCTURE. A GUIDE WHAT TO ANTICIPATE IN HYBRID COURSE FOR STUDENTS

  1. Basic Structure of Hybrid Class

Each hybrid course will be divided into modules, typically 4 to 8 in number. Lectures for each module will be made available online as indexed video of PowerPoint overheads with audio and hand illustrations used in a class with a Tablet PC. The instructor will typically meet with the class once for each module for questions, discussions, projects, exams, tutorials, demonstrations, etc. The hybrid course may be an additional section of a regular course or a standalone course. The courses will continue to be offered as regular classroom courses also at least once a year, so the students will have a choice. The number of hybrid courses will be expanded gradually. The goal is to expand the CS program and reduce the number of years to achieve a degree by making coursework more flexible, without sacrificing quality.
