Contact Improvisation (CI)
Philosophy
- CI is also a Body Mind Centering (BMC) exercise. There is my own introduction about the issues beyond the pure movement itself.
- Don't be afraid: Why CI could be complex, but is easy for people without professional dance training to start embracing.
- a quote from Michael Schrage's Shared Minds: : Good for people starting with theatrical dance background before starting CI
Techniques
"If the dancer dances which is not the same as having theories about dancing or wishing to dance or trying to dance everything is there. When I dance, it means: this is what I am doing." -- Merce Cunningham
- What techniques to learn in CI:Are they movements or what?
- My draft of the community classes (also including the ones for the theatrical application for the serious dancers)
- Other exercises useful for CI dancers (mostly in Chinese)

- There are a selection of a serial pictures of mine in my CI study in the early year(200?) below. The time shows how fast interesting movements can come up during a CI. What a great choreography tool it is!
