This public directory contains:

(a) electronic copies of nearly all past tests; keep in mind that (a)
    the materials covered change from semester to semester and (b) from
    Summer 1994 until Fall 1999,there were one big midterm and two
    half-an-hour quizzes instead of the two midterms we have now.

    DO NOT TRY TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS BEFORE KNOWING PRECISELY IF
    IT'S ON THE TEST.

(b) some UNIX-related documents.

Most of these files are in ASCII or in HTML.  Please note however that
"socket.pdf" is an Adobe Acrobat document, "socket.ps" is a Postscript
file and "socket.doc" is a MS Word for Windows document.   All three
files are formatted versions of the ASCII file "socket.txt".

Files whose name includes a "+" contain the answers to the test
questions.
