About the Lab
The Biomedical Imaging Lab at the University of Houston fosters research in the areas of Computational Biomedicine, Neuroengineering, and Biomedical imaging. Specific emphasis is given on the interplay between biosignals and information processing in the brain. Current research projects focus on the development of computational tools to analyze the

  • dynamic functional connectivity and causality between cortical regions,
  • functional brain imaging for presurgical language mapping,
  • diffusion tensor imaging and tractography for neurodegenerative disorders, and
  • hand-held devices for screening skin cancer.

Considering the interdisciplinary nature of our research, we actively collaborate with clinicians, bioengineers, and computational scientists located within the University of Houston, the Texas Medical Center, and around the world.
