Experiment #8 Sample Waveforms |
This first waveform shows the standard operation of the circuit. The emergency
pushbutton is pressed during state 3, which is a Red/Green state. The light should
continue its cycle through state 4 (Red/Yellow) and on to state 5 (Red/Red) where it
will pause until the putton is pressed again.

|
In this second waveform, the light progresses through a normal cycle (states 0
through 5). The pushbutton is pressed during state 0, which causes the circuit to
pause when it arrives at state 2. The button is never pressed again, thus it will
never leave state 2.

|
The thrid waveform shows the button pressed during state 0 to signal a pause in
state 2, but the button is pressed again promptly when state 2 arrives. Therefore,
nothing unusual happens.

|
In the previous examples, the interval the switch was left on convered both the
high and low cycle of the clock pulse. This is not necessary. The following waveform
shows that you can use half the pulse, but that the pulse must occur when the clock
has a zero value.
