GAANN Benefits

 

The Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship program is supported by a U.S. Department of Education grant with a matching fund from the University of Houston.

Benefits
 

A students’ Cost of Attendance (COA) generally consists of

  • tuition and fees (T&F),
  • books and supplies,
  • transportation,
  • travel to professional meetings,
  • room and board, and
  • other miscellaneous personal expenses.

The duration of GAANN federal funding is for three years (36 months) with summer support included. FY 2021 maximum stipend is $34,000 (actual amount a fellow receives is based on one's financial need and cost-of-living in Houston). An Instituition Payment of $16,730 is allocated for tuition/ fee and other educational costs.

A GAANN fellow may choose his/her advisor from any one of our Cybersecurity faculty.
