GAANN Benefits

 

The Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship program is supported by a U.S. Department of Education grant with a matching fund from the University of Houston.

Obligations
 
  • Conducting Ph.D. research in Cybersecurity;
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress;
  • Devoting full time to studying or research;
  • Not engaging in full-time employment, except part-time in teaching, researching, or other similar activities;
  • Completing a 2-semester Supervised Teaching Experience (STE) program, including taking a teaching effectiveness course and serving as a TA for one semester; and
  • Participating in GAANN activities and outreach programs.
