Intentionally ran that one somewhat slow, "saving myself" for next week's speed workouts. T=60-69! --- got quite warm during the last two hours; right ankle hurt the last 7 miles, but did not get any worse; otherwise, possibly due to the quite slow pace, I felt not tired and quite strong.

3/21 14M t: 2x1.5M 8:50-pace; 7:11, 7:06. Allen 764 6/5 T=72; H=73%; W=15mph. Started at 12:15p. Was happy to be able to run today, because I fell in the bathroom and bruised my left little toe, and the side of the left foot below the toe badly --- everything is and was quite swollen. Count this workout as a T-workout (bad weather, slow shoes, Allen Parkway footing and hills)!

Anyhow, I ran 75M in 10 days without a rest day, and I am really looking forward to tomorrow's rest day. 165.5p!!

3/28 21M cont 2:59:33 Hershey 2080 6/8 T=70-74; H=93-81%; W=8mph; first longer run with 2080 and the bottoms of both feet felt somewhat strange during the whole long run. Ran a scenic route (for Houston standards) starting from the Terry Hershey Park Visitor Center to Beltway 8 (about 5.9M) --- a lot wild flowers were blooming --- and back with a 3.2M side trip on the Robin trail going south, and then continued towards Barker Dam running 2 additional miles on the levee of Barker Dam.
3/30 7M v: 4x1200 RE2:30 4:39 4:39 4:39 4:36 TrMemPa DST9 6/3 T=51-55 H=94-86% W=3mph; slow in quite good condition --- was supposed to run 4:33's; left quad felt quite sore at the beginning of the workout, but had no problems finishing the workout.

TangArb:= From Memorial Park Tennis Center following Memorial going south on Chimney Rock and then Tanglewood, returning via PostOak, doing 4 additional miles on the 2.2M outer Arboretum trail and coming back "long" to start. (14.15M)
Blalock:= From Memorial Park Tennis Center going out short following Memorial, turning right when it hits San Felipe, continuing on Memorial; if you turn around at Blalock, coming back on the same route (14M); if you go further to Gessner (18M) or to Beltway 8 (20.9M).
WhOk := along White Oak Bayou and White Oak Street also covering miles 3 and 4 of the Houston Marathon course.
RiceTr := Track at Rice University
HCMT := HoChiMinh trail (mildly rolling)
Huntsv:= Huntsville State Park trails, 65 miles north of Houston

LDST7 := "Last" (had to buy this shoe in Roundrock Texas; DS Trainer VIII came out at the end of 2002) Asics Gel DS Trainer VII (March 18. 2003-... ); size 11; light weight training shoe for races and faster workouts; orange/silver top; 135.8M as of April 30, 2004.
MWM := Mizuno Wave Maverick (Dec. 3, 2002-April 9, 2004); size 11; light weight training shoe for races and faster workouts; retired with 310.7 miles.
BSNC := Adidas SuperNova Classic (May 26, 2003-January 1, 2004), 2000 model but with black colors, retired with 494.8 miles .
ADR := Brooks Adrenaline GTS4 (June 22, 2003-April 30, 2004), size 11, somewhat heavy stability but not too bad for running at 10K-pace or slower, retired with 498.5 miles.

Meaning of Short Terms

21W := 21 sets of strength training (various exercises) each set consisting of 12 repetitions.
