12/28, 11a 200 minutes Major Hiking 9.2M Keith Wiess Park. HB With Houston Trails & More Meetup Group with 12 other people that showed the courage and dedication to hike in extremely wet conditions with the temperature around 40! Did 30 miles over this soggy weekend!
12/29, 7:20p 5.4M easy 51:41 UH_DT DEF7* T=48- and mostly cloudy; ran okay in the dark, after covering 30 miles over the gray and wet weekend!
12/31, 11:55a 7.0M t: 3.125M 1:02:56 (26:06 (11:13(CP) 9:43(WF) 5:10(LoBr))) UH_DT3 LAU T=44; quite slow today in a run I had difficulties getting warmed up: 50 seconds slower than on December 10, but 13 seconds faster than on October 4! 180.4p.
1/2, 7:25a 10M easy 1:34:59 (34:09 28:27 32:27) H-Mem(1)-H DEF7* T=45+ and overcast and damp, but did not rain. Was overdressed and was sweating too much in my Sub4 rain-protection; ran okay but not really good today. Due to the bad weather forcast I decided to move the 17M long run to Wednesday, January 7. The right knee that had the collision with the glass door on Dec. 22 is still not 100%.
1/4, 6:30a 10M easy 1:45:15 (36:04 24:02 walked the last 3 miles) RivOK LAU T=41+, sunny with very cold wind. Finally, participating in a BCRR Sunday Morning run! Unfortunatly, my left hamstring started to feel tight and sore after running 5 miles, and after jogging two more miles, I decided to walk the last 3 miles: this could be trouble for the Houston Marathon; I will take an extra restday, and try to run again on Wednesday, hoping for the best!
1/5, 7:20a 5.4M easy 0:00 Allen Forced restday due to injury!
1/7, 7:00a 17.0 9.7M easy 2:06:03 (ran only 3.7M and walked the rest) East Beach Loop, Galveston once, starting from the Hotel Galvez! DEF7* T=52+ and mostly cloudy; left hamstring was tight and started to hurt again after 2 miles, and I walked more than 60% of today's distance that I also shortened by 7.3 miles: we will have to wait and see, if I will be able to run the Houston Marathon in 11 days. Will not run for 3 days!
Three More Rest Days Due to Left Hamsting Strain!
1/10, 8:45p 90 minutes Hiking 5.4M Allen DEF7* T=38 and damp; succeeded to walk without rain in the 4th try over this soggy weekend! 180.6p: not losing any weight!
1/11, 3:40p 6.1M easy 59:39 [31:38 28:01] UH_DT2 DEF7* T=48 and damp after a lot of rain since 6a; started very slowly trying to see if the left hamstring could handle running, but picked up the pace significantly in the second half of today's run; good news the hamstring was still somewhat tight but did not hurt at all: therefore, my participation in the Chevron Marathon is much more likely now!
1/13, 7:00a 5.6M easy 58:07 AllenR LAU T=44-43, 10mph NNW wind and drizzel of and on; left hamstring still somewhat tight, but otherwise okay, but right quad felt somewhat sore. Quite slow today, perhaps due to the bad conditions; hopefully, there is nothing else wrong with me. 182.2p!
1/14, 11:15a 6.3M ftl: 6x2min f|s 58:28 Allen R7 T=43, H=76% and overcast; made it through today's workout and the left hamstring made it through 12 minutes of faster running, except it felt slightly tight during the 6th repeat! Consequently, I might be even be able to finish the Houston Marathon on Sunday!
1/17, 10:45a 2.1M easy 20:00 Allen DEF7* T=59+ and sunny; left calf seemed somewhat tight: perhaps, too much foam rolling, but the left hamstring was fine! Now, it is time to get hipped up for the 2015 CHM, as I still feel somwhat low key after I was not sure I would run it 2 weeks ago! 180.8p.
1/18, 7:00a 27.0M Chevron Houston Marathon 4:29:13 ([2:01:30 2:27:43]; 9:12 9:03 8:56 9:09 9:02 9:18 9:11 9:15 9:21 9:31 9:35 9:14 9:38 9:41 10:00 10:05 12:22 13:17 10:20 10:20 11:28 12:40 12:15 13:03 11:23 2:20); [5K 07:31:58AM 00:28:14 28:14 09:05 6.61 10K 08:00:10AM 00:56:26 28:12 09:05 6.61 15K 08:28:55AM 01:25:11 28:45 09:16 6.48 HALF 09:04:38AM 02:00:54 35:43 09:26 6.37 25K 09:28:24AM 02:24:40 23:46 09:48 6.12 30K 10:02:54AM 02:59:10 34:30 11:07 5.41 35K 10:38:34AM 03:34:50 35:40 11:29 5.23 40K 11:17:12AM 04:13:28 38:38 12:26 4.83 Finish Net 11:32:57AM 04:29:13 15:45 11:33 5.20]; Houston R7 T=49-63; H=73-60%
