4/25 4/26, 7:20a 5.5M ftl: 13x(1:f|1:s) 59:01 (walked 4 minutes) Allen SNG8 T=76, H=89% and overcast. Continuing minor problems with my left knee, but it does not affect running much....
4/27, 6:45a 6.1M easy 1:04:34 UH_DT3 WR20 T=57-59, H=77-72% and sunny with 7mph NNE wind. Not too fast today, but the left knee problem did not get any worse; however, slightly sore left quad after the run!
4/29, 5:33:20p 3.91M (5.5M total) Terlingua's 50th LP Run 33:20 (8:29-pace; 8:27 8:31 8:33 8:22(0.92M) ) Rice Univ. Track, Houston. BoBoo6 T=83, H=88% and overcast. Ran 15 laps and 952 feet, totaling 20,637.10 feet; 6/11a. Okay run in challenging conditions! 185.6p!
4/30, 12:30p 5.3M easy 54:44 AllenR SNG8 T=67-69 H=52-45% and partly cloudy. Okay, rare lunchtime run in surprisingly cool conditions.
5/2, 6:50a 11.0M easy 2:00:08(?) H-MemPa(1.33)-H (via Taft) WR20 T=68-80, H=80-62% and parly cloudy. Quite slow today, also experiencing soreness and stiffness right inner thigh, right hip, left knee and minor digestive problems; was happy when I was finally done with this run!
5/3, 6:25p 5.3M easy 56:36 AllenR SNG8 T=85-84, H=73-77% and mostly cloudy; digestive conditions prevented me from running faster!
5/5, 5:50p 5.6M easy 58:08 (ran miles 4 and 5 at 9:40-pace) AllenR SNG8 T=85-84, H=32-37% and partly cloudy; postponed planned speed-work to Tuesday, because of digestive problems and feeling somewhat hyper.
5/7, 7:45 7.7M very easy 1:26:27 UHDT-NI101 WR20 T=75-80, H=65-57% and mostly cloudy. New Route UH_DT_Deadend-SanJacinto-NI10-Trail-Spring-Wash-Stude-H. Not feeling like running fast, but also did not have any access to water the last 6 miles! Finally, found the San Jacinto break-through to the going north of I10 White-oak/Stude-Park trail! 185.4p.
5/9, 6:45a 6.0M t: 1M...1M 1:03:38 (mile3:8:55 mile5:9:14) Allen SNG8 T=72-74, H=86% and overcast. Not that great workout; ran the first mile okay, but the second one 30 seconds too slow!
5/11, 5:20p 7.0M very easy (exploratory run with water carrier) 1:17:21 H-UHDT-SanJac-Stude-H WR20 T=85-84, H=61-64% and partly cloudy. New Route UH_DT_Deadend-SanJacinto-StudePark-H. This route need some refinement, going back on Studemont is awful, perhaps should go a little further and go back on Heights/Waugh.
5/13, 4:20p 2.2M (4.6M total) 2nd leg of HARRA Bayou Bash Relay 18:47 (8:33-8:33-7:59(0.2M)) T.C. Jester Park, Houston. BoBoo6 T=85, H=51% and partly cloudy. My team run 19:56-18:47-20:16-20:56 barely getting under 80 minutes. Did not race this one all out, as I was on a slow team that had no chance of winning, perserving some enery for tomorrow's run!
5/14, 6:30a 9.8M easy 1:36:92 (mile 5+6: 9:07-pace; mile 7: 8:38-pace(0.8M; last 0.3M in 8:10-pace)) RivOk SNG8 T=73-79, H=78-69% and partly cloudy; ran miles 5-7 quite quickly, and the other 7 miles quite slowly.
5/16, 6:45a 8.0M easy 1:28:38 Palacios, Texas WR20 T=75-58, H=89-86% and mostly cloudy; quite slow with water carrier into a strong wind, going SE from the Peaceful Pelican on East Bayshore Dr. which is quite a long road which is good for 8M run in Palacios as it is somewhat scenic, mostly going along the water of the Tres Palacios Bay until being forced off, having to go along FM2853 for 0.3M before turning around.
5/17, 6:45a 5.0M easy 55:15 To Palacios Harbour R8 T=76, H=91% and overcast. First run for R8! Did not feel that great the first 3 miles, but then ran the last 2 miles in 10:20-pace.
5/18, 6:45p 0.48M Swimming 34:24 0.83M/h Beginning of Swimming Season I May 18-June 17!
5/20, 6:50a 6.0M t: 1M...1M 1:08:43 (walked 1M; mile3: 8:53 mile5: 8:58) Allen SNG8 T=77, H=90% and overcast. A little better workout than the last time I did that workout; left knee less of a problem. 186.8p: still having a weight crisis!
5/21, 7:10a 6.1M easy 1:07:17 UH_DT3' R8 T=77, H=94% and overcast; before the torrential rain started; slightly different rounte as the path to UH_DownTown on the north side of Buffalo Bayou is blocked off; a really bad run: all I could master today was 11:00 pace and this even felt challenging; hopefully, nothing is wrong with me but the conditions were quite bad...
5/23, 6:30a 10M easy 1:52:21 Town Lake Butler Trail Loop, Austin WR20 T=68-70, H=98% and overcast; very slow run, after not feeling well yesterday.
5/24, 5:25p 5.3M easy 51:41 (10:17 9:53 9:30 9:36 9:37 10:07(0.3M)) AllenR R8 T=83-82, H=35% and partly cloudy; exceptionally good run in quite warm conditions with very low humidity after not running well for 2 weeks.
5/26, 6:15p 5.4M easy 59:39 (walked 0.3 miles) Allen SNG8 T=87-85, H=73-77% and overcast; running slowly in really muggy and warm conditions, except mile four I ran 9:40 pace.
5/29, 7:07p 8.5M Boulder Boulder 10k 55:03 (paces: 8:43 8:51 9:10 9:01 8:31 8:39) Boulder Colorado BoBoo6 T=48-51, H=96-76% and partly cloudy. Not a good race; could not get going the first four miles, and then had problems getting around people the last 2 miles when I was running faster! Ran 6.31M on my watch and not 6.21M, mostly due to having to get around people. 21/139a: missed the 63-year old age group award (they have 15!!) by 94 seconds: if I had know that I might have ran much faster today to win the award, as I lacked a little motivation in the middle of the race; nice bands on the course, but it is somewhat unusual to run a race with alot of people around you the whole way.
5/30, 6:45a 5.0M easy 1:02:12 (walked 0.5 miles) To Left Hand Trial Head R8 T=55, H=64% and parly cloudy. Quite slow, still having difficulties with the elevation and with not running on trails for a long time.
5/31, 5:30p 10.1M easy 2:09:36 (walked 1.7M) Boulder Water Reservoir R8 T=81, H=44% and parly cloudy. Stuggled a lot in this run; had to walk most uphills in the second half in quite warm conditions; however, it looked to me I was not that well adjusted to the Boulder running conditions; felt quite exhausted after the run!
6/2, 9:40a 5.2M SM Trail 1:51:11 (2.6Mph) Smuggler Mountain, Aspen Vasques T=73, H=56% and partly cloudy; pretty nice forrests near the mountain tops!
6/2, 5:30p 6.1M easy 1:04:32 Rio Grande Trail, Aspen R8 T=76, H=41% and partly cloudy. Managed Aspen's 8000 feet elevation better and ran without stopping, although slow on a beautiful trail going along a white water river.
6/2, 9:40a 4.0M Hiking Cathedral Lake Trail and a trail at the end of the Castle Creek road. ? Aspen Vasques T=73, H=56% had to abandon the Cathedral trail hike after going up for one mile, as I could not handle the 9,700+ foot on the trail and stopped being fun going up the mountain: probably, did too much yesterday when I covered more than 11 miles! However, truely enjoyed beautiful views of mountains and nice valleys and the floweres along Castle Creek Road!
6/4, 6:05a 5.1M easy 55:58 Rio Grande Trail, Aspen R8 T=46, H=81% and overcast. Early run before going back; ran somewhat slowly as I was not feeling that great. Badly bruised my second right toe Sunday night after coming back! 184.8p.
6/7, 5:30p 5.3M easy 56:36 AllenR WR20 T=91-89, H=37% and partly cloudy. Ran pretty well in all that heat, and the bruised second, right toe did not make too much trouble!
6/8, 11:15a 5.7M easy 1:01:41 UH_DT1 (with detour as the trail to UH_DT parking lot is closed) SNG8 T=82-84 H=42% and sunny. Okay, rare June lunchtime run, as the humidiy was quite low!
6/8, 5:20p 0.56M Swimming 38:52 0.86M/h Only the second swimm due to all this traveling; a little faster than last time!
6/10, 6:40a 5.1M easy 54:52 Allen WR20 T=73-76 H=81-74% and partly cloudy.So so run!
6/11, 7:45a 5.1M (walked 0.4 miles) very easy 1:01:12 UH_DT0 SNG8 T=79-82 H=82% and sunny. Not in the mood today; somewhat stiff hip and did not feel that great, otherwise.
6/11, 2:50p 0.64M Swimming 44:02 0.87M/h Decided to swimm earlier, as it rained at 2:45p, but after 20 minutes all clouds disappeared and had to swimm in bright sunlight (without sun glasses)!
6/13, 6:40a 8.2M easy 1:44:48 (walked miles 5 and 7) UH_DT5 (H-Deadend-Milam_Br-Sh_Br-H; via Taft) WR20 T=79-82, H=84-79% and mostly cloudy. New loop route via UT_DT and Allen Parkway loop. Another bad run; hope there is nothing "wrong" with me!
6/14, 6:30p 0.73M Swimming 47:55 0.92M/h Okay swimm on a day I felt quite sleepy the whole day! 6% faster than the fastest swimm so far!
6/16, 8:35a 5.3M easy 1:03:39 (walked the last mile) AllenR SNG8 T=88, H=78% and mostly cloudy with rain clouds that never rained; again did not make it much beyond mile 4 before walking.
6/16, 6:35p 0.68M Swimming 50:13 0.81M/h Quite slow today, but the temperature at 6:15p was still 94, and the water was at least 2 degrees warmer.
6/17, 7:10a 7.2M easy 1:21:23 UH_DT4 (via Long Bridge & Taft) WR20 T=80-85, H=88-77% and partly cloudy. Another slow run, but at least I did not walk this time!
6/19, 6:45p 7.0M easy 1:19:49 (with water carrier) Englisher Garten, Muenchen, mostly running along the Isar. R8 T=79-, H=57+% and sunny. Another slow run, but I walked 12,000 steps during the Gray Hound Bus Munich City Tour before this run!
6/22, 6:40a 4.9M very easy ? Milan, Italy R8 T=82+ H=92%- and partly cloudy.
6/23, 6:50a 5.0M easy ? Milan, Italy R8 T=82+ H=92%- and partly cloudy.
6/23, 4:20p 0.39M Swimming 27:00 0.76M/h Swimming in the ocean in Rapallo!
6/24, 6:40a 9.5M easy 2:00:40 (walked 1.5M) Rapallo-San Margerita-Portofino R8 T=81+ H=95%- and mostly cloudy. Decent, scenic run run with water carrier as I faced 2 major hills getting out of Rapallo and a third hill running on a beautiful trail going along a steep rocky mountain towards Portofino. Walked all major uphills!
6/27, 6:35a 6.1M easy 1:13:12 (slowed down by traffic lights and water carrier) Warsaw, Poland R8 T=68+, H=78% and mostly cloudy. Going south from the Metropol hotel!
6/29, 6:45a 5.6M easy 1:09:20 (got lost and walked 1.6 miles) Warsaw, Poland R8 T=72+, H=88% and parly cloudy. Going south from the metropol hotel!
6/30, 6:40a 4.2M very easy Gdansk, Poland R8 T=70, H=92% and overcast; going along the water, running into a lot of deadends. Not in the mood on cobble stone,...
7/1, 6:40a 6.1M easy 1:11:14 (with water carrier) Gdansk, Poland R8 T=72, H=90% and overcast. Going south to the main street and then going east on a bike path, running quit slowly and not to good footing.
7/2, 5:20p 6.1M easy 1:07:14 (slowed down by traffic lights and water carrier) Warsaw, Poland R8 T=80, H=65% and partly cloudy. Going east from the Metropol hotel towards the Vistula River---seeing a lot of people enjoying their Sunday on the river---then south along the river and back the "regular" route. Okay run, after a lot a very slow runs!
7/4, 8:30a 10.0M Hiking In and Near Herrman Park with HAT Meetup Group 3:06:10 (3.2M per hour) Houston, Texas WR20 T=87-92, H=91-63% and partly cloudy; a lot of loops but nice people! 184.4p!
7/5, 6:25a 5.8M (walked 0.5 miles at the end) easy 1:07:14 MemPa SNG8 T=80-86, H=85-79% and partly cloudy; not a good run, somewhat did not feel well!
7/7, 6:50a 5.3M easy 56:46 AllenR WR20 T=80-86, H=91-85% and sunny; okay run as I succeeded to finish the run without walking: but it felt very hard.
7/9, 7:00a 6.9M easy 1:27:17 (walked 1.9M) UH_DT5 (via LongBridge) R8 T=79-81, H=98-92% and partly cloudy. Not in a competitive mood after too much red wine last night!
7/11, 6:45a 5.8M easy 1:03:36 Allen SNG8 T=79-81, H=94-89% and mostly cloudy; okay run, slowed down by sweat in the eyes. Feeling kind of hyper the first days of July: will need to monitor my blood pressure!
7/13, 6:45a 9.1M easy 1:53:42 (walked 1.7M) H-Mem(1)-H WR20 T=78-84 H=87-71% and sunny. Did okay, inspite of the walking! 182.4p.
7/15, 7:35a 5.3M easy 1:10:21 (walked last 2 miles) AllenR SNG8 T=83-87 H=86-69% and partly cloudy. Tried to keep up with 2 women, running about 10:20-pace on miles 2 and 3 and felt "overheated" after 3 miles, and decided to walk the last two miles.
7/17, 7:05a 6.0M easy 1:07:38 Allen WR20 T=78-81, H=87-85% and mostly cloudy. Kind of slow today, but at least I did not walk! 183.8p.
7/19, 6:50a 5.6M easy 1:01:03 UH_DT3R R8 T=79-82, H=86% and partly cloudy. Decent run!
7/21, 6:40a 6.0M easy 1:06:27 Allen SNG8 T=79-81, H=90% and partly cloudy. So, so run! 184.8p.
7/23, 12:10p 5.9M easy 1:07:57 (with water carrier) Toward the Waterfront Toronto and then west along the water. R8 T=73+ H=85%- and partly cloudy; quite a scienic run along the water.
7/25, 7:35a 6.7M easy 1:13:40 (with water carrier) Toward the Waterfront Toronto and then east along the water. R8 T=67+ H=66%- and mostly cloudy; somewhat ugly run on a bike path with not much to see! Quite slow today!
7/27, 9:30a 5.5M easy 1:00:20 Toward the Waterfront Toronto and then west along the water. WR20 T=70 and it was raining most of the time; ran at okay pace when the footing was good!
7/28, 8:25a 8.3M easy 1:28:07 Toward the Waterfront Toronto and then west along the water. R8 T=69 H=70%- and mostly cloudy; ran quite well today averaging 10:40 inspite of the slow first and last miles due to bad footing, predestians and traffic lights. 184.2p.
End of the 2016/2017 season 7 days of non running. 2017/2018 season starts on Saturday, August 5, 2017!
7/30, 9:20a 0.54M Swimming 38:15 0.83M/h 26 str./min Had back spasms intially, but was able to complete the workout!
7/31, 6:20p YS^2B 24:SB 23 sets Str./Stetch/Yoga 3hipst, 2legOv, 3Cob, 2Br, 3X, 3SA, 4PoD and 3BP Workout in my apartment complex. 182.8p.
8/2, 6:45p 0.68M Swimming 48:04 0.85M/h 26 str./min Okay swimm in unusually cold water as the temperature was only 75 when I stated the swimm!
8/3, 10:55a YS^2B 28:SB 25 sets Str./Stetch/Yoga 2hipst, 3legOv, 3Cob, 2Br, 2X, Cand: 3:, 3SA, 3PoD, 3PECT and 2BP Workout in my apartment complex.
8/5, 7:20a 5.9M (walked mile 5!) easy 1:13:43 AllenR SNG8 T=81-82; H=90% and partly cloudy. Start of the 2107/2018 Running Season! Averaged 11:30-pace on the non-walking miles, which was expectably slow after not running for 7 days. New loop root going one Bridge further which is 5.86M exactly. Only had a little over 60,000 steps in the Su-Sa week my watch uses, as swimming, and stretch/strength/Yoga-style workouts do not produce many steps. Last run for SNG8, as the heel cushioning of the left shoe is signicantly damaged, and the back of the shoe therefore creates heel friction! 183.8p!
8/6, 6:20p 5.0M 3.2M (walked 0.6 miles very easy Allen WR20 T=84-86 H=88% and mostly cloudy; conditions worsened and I should not started this run as it was quite humid.
8/7, 6:05p 0.68M Swimming 45:30 0.89M/h 26 str./minOkay swimm in unusually cold water as the temperature was only 78 when I started the swimm! Much faster than 5 days ago. This ends the in-between season swimming: Swimming Season II will be August 28-October 27, 2017!
8/8, 5:50p 2.2M aborted workout Allen R8 T=85 H=78% and parly cloudy. Stopped workout due to stomach cramps and also due to lack of trails to run on, due to major flooding!
8/10, 6:50a 5.0M easy 57:56 (walked last 0.4 miles) AllenR R8 T=81-84 H=94% and parly cloudy. Ran quite well, but felt exhausted near the end and decided to walk the last 0.4 miles. Surprisingly, 35 foot of water were gone just after 36 hours and there was not even much mudd on the trail! 183.0p.
8/12, 7:35a 5.3M easy 1:03:36 (walked mile 4) AllenR WR20 T=83-88 H=91-77% and sunny. Did okay after starting too late and too much red wine last night after a frustrating day at work!
8/13, 6:25a 5.1M easy 58:53 (walked last half mile) UH_DT0 R8 T=81-83 H=89% and sunny. Run the first 4.6M in 11:08-pace, but then felt really exhaused and walked the rest.
8/16, 6:35a 5.1M easy 57:48 Allen WR20 T=82-84 H=89% and partly cloudy. Succeeded to run the whole way!
8/17, 7:10a 5.2M easy 59:38 (walked last 0.5 miles) AllenR R8 T=83-85 H=89% and sunny. 183.2p.
8/20, 7:10a 6.1M easy 1:11:19 (walked last mile) Allen WR20 T=82-86 H=89-82% and sunny. Okay run, as I ran miles 3-5 in 10:15 pace!
8/22, 6:15a 3.2M aborted run AllenR R8 Stomach cramps forced me to end the run prematurely!
8/23, 6:35a 6.0M easy 1:13:36 (walked mile 5) AllenR WR20 T=81--82 H=93% and mostly cloudy.
8/26, 2p&6p 6.5M easy 1:20:00 (walked 2.6M of the distance) AllenR R8 Before all the flooding on Bufallo Bayou!
8/30, noon 4.8M easy run walked AllenR R8
8/31, 5:20p YS^2B 25SB 25 minutes of walking, 20 sets Str./Stetch/Yoga 1hipst, 2legOv, 3Cob, 2Br, 2X, 2SA, 3PoD, 3ob and 2BP Workout in my apartment complex. 185.2p.
9/2, 7a 5.2M (walked last 2.2M) easy 1:11:13 AllenR WR20 T=78+; H=89%- and partly cloudy; still a lot of flooding along Buffalo Bayou!
